Find the Missing Story: Teardown of Ustraa's Product Copy

Ustraa

Objective: Given two real-shaped Ustraa copy specimens, a product page and an Instagram caption, identify which of the four story-framework parts are missing versus present, without being told which is which.

You're a freelance copy reviewer brought in to audit Ustraa's grooming-kit launch copy before it goes live. Both pieces read fine on a skim, but neither is converting the way the team expected.

Apply the Hook-Struggle-Turn-After State framework from this lesson to flag real defects, and avoid flagging plausible-sounding non-defects.

Success criteria

You're done when you can:

  • Correctly flags at least 2 of the 3 real defects in item 1 and 1 of the 2 real defects in item 2
  • Does not select any of the listed distractors as defects
  • Rewrite includes a specific hook naming a situation, not the product name
