The Content Pillar System: Building a 6-Month Posting Engine

MapmyIndia (CE Info Systems)

Objective: Build a complete content-pillar system, 3 to 5 recurring themes, a weekly posting rotation, and a repurposing map from one long-form source, matching the lesson's minimum viable stack for scaling thought leadership without daily inspiration.

You're building the LinkedIn thought-leadership system for a senior leader at MapmyIndia (CE Info Systems), the New Delhi-founded geospatial technology company that listed on the Indian stock exchanges in December 2021 at a 53% premium. Leadership wants a repeatable system, not one-off viral posts.

Define 4 content pillars from the company's actual work, build a Monday/Wednesday/Friday rotation across them, and map one long-form source (a keynote deck) into 5 individual posts.

Before you start

What you'll need

Free path (everything below is enough to finish)

FreeMaintain the pillar definitions, rotation schedule, and repurposing map as one living system doc

Free and shareable with whoever is ghost-writing for the executive

Buffer
FreemiumSchedule the batch-written posts across the Monday/Wednesday/Friday rotation

Free tier covers 3 channels, enough for a single executive's LinkedIn queue

Paid upgrades (optional, faster/deeper)

FreeNot for the organic posts themselves, used to boost the single highest-performing pillar post per month as a paid amplification test

Confirms which pillar deserves more organic investment before committing more writing time to it

The process

1 step

Step 01 of 01

Content pillars as recurring themes that define expertise

The lesson defines content pillars as 3 to 5 recurring themes that every post maps to, batch writing as producing 2 to 3 weeks of posts in one session, and repurposing as turning one long-form asset into 5 posts.

Given MapmyIndia's actual business (geospatial APIs, autonomous vehicle mapping, government infrastructure contracts, a Dec 2021 IPO), what 4 pillars would a senior leader's account rotate through, and how does a single keynote deck on 'India's EV mapping infrastructure' turn into 5 posts?

Google Docs— Create a system doc with sections for Pillars, Weekly Rotation, and Repurposing Map.

Procedure

  1. Name exactly 4 pillars grounded in the company's real work, not generic B2B themes
  2. Assign each pillar a day: Monday = personal story pillar, Wednesday = industry insight or data pillar, Friday = contrarian or technical pillar
  3. Take one long-form source (the keynote deck) and extract 5 distinct post angles from it, one per slide section or claim
  4. Note which of the 5 posts uses which pillar, confirming the rotation and the repurposing map reference the same 4 pillars
  5. Add a batch-writing note, all 5 posts get drafted in one sitting the week before publishing
Sample output
PILLARS
  1. Geospatial infrastructure lessons (technical, industry insight)
  2. Building deep tech in India (personal story, founder journey)
  3. What autonomous vehicles actually need from maps (contrarian/technical)
  4. Public-sector data partnerships (data-backed take)

WEEKLY ROTATION
  Mon: Pillar 2 (personal story) | Wed: Pillar 1 or 4 (data/insight) | Fri: Pillar 3 (contrarian)

REPURPOSING MAP, source: 'India's EV Mapping Infrastructure' keynote deck
Post 1 (Pillar 1): The lane-level accuracy problem no one talks about
Post 2 (Pillar 3): Why generic GPS maps fail autonomous vehicles in Indian traffic
Post 3 (Pillar 4): What a state government mapping partnership actually requires
Post 4 (Pillar 2): The infrastructure decision we got wrong at 500M queries
Post 5 (Pillar 1): One stat from the keynote, reframed as a standalone data post

Healthy

All 5 repurposed posts map back to one of the 4 defined pillars, and the rotation has no day left unassigned.

Unhealthy

Posts are generated ad hoc with no pillar reference, forcing a new topic search every publishing day.

What this means

A pillar system converts one research effort (the keynote) into a month of on-brand content instead of five unrelated one-off posts.

So what do I do about it?

SymptomActionEffort
Team runs out of post ideas after 2 weeksRe-mine the last long-form asset (deck, case study, podcast) for 5 more angles against the same 4 pillars30 min
Posts feel scattered across unrelated topicsReject any draft that doesn't map to one of the 4 named pillars5 min

Final deliverable

A content-pillar system doc with 4 named pillars, a Mon/Wed/Fri rotation, and a 5-post repurposing map from one long-form source.

Sample output
Stitch Fix, executive LinkedIn pillar system (excerpt)

PILLARS
  1. Personalization at scale (technical/data)
  2. What retail gets wrong about styling (contrarian)
  3. Building a public company as a solo founder-turned-CEO (personal story)
  4. Data science in fashion (industry insight)

REPURPOSING MAP, source: Q3 investor letter
Post 1 (Pillar 4): The stylist-matching stat investors keep asking about
Post 2 (Pillar 1): Why personalization breaks at 1M+ customers, and what fixed it

Success criteria

You're done when you can:

  • Exactly 4 pillars are named and grounded in the company's real business
  • Every day in the Mon/Wed/Fri rotation is assigned to a named pillar
  • All 5 repurposed posts trace back to one of the 4 pillars, none are orphaned
