Build a Keyword-First Pinterest Board and Pin Plan
Objective: Given Framebridge's product categories, build a keyword-first board architecture and draft a fully SEO-optimized first pin (title, description, alt text) for each board, following the lesson's board naming rules and five-keyword-field pin anatomy.
You're the new marketing coordinator at Framebridge, the custom picture-framing company acquired by Graham Holdings in 2021. Leadership wants a Pinterest presence built the right way from day one, not a rushed batch of random pins.
Framebridge sells custom picture frames, gallery-wall design, and art and photo preservation. Turn those categories into descriptive, search-matching board names, then draft one SEO-complete pin per board.

The process
1 step
Step 01 of 01
The lesson's Board Strategy section treats boards as both navigation and keyword architecture: use plain descriptive phrases that match how users search (not clever brand names), target 20-30 boards, and keep board covers visually consistent.
Framebridge sells custom picture frames, gallery-wall design, and art/photo preservation kits. What five board names would a Pinterest searcher actually type, and what does the first SEO-complete pin on each board look like?
Procedure
- List Framebridge's real product categories: custom frames, gallery walls, diploma/art preservation, kids' art framing, photo gifts.
- For each category, write a plain descriptive board name a searcher would type, e.g. 'Gallery Wall Layout Ideas', not 'Framebridge Faves'.
- Write a 2-3 sentence board description for each, front-loading the primary keyword the way the lesson's Pin Creation section describes.
- Draft one full pin per board: a 100-character title, a 500-character description with 3-5 related keywords, and alt text carrying a secondary keyword.
- Assign each pin a specific destination URL (a product or blog page), never the homepage.

Healthy
Five boards, each with a keyword-matching name, a written description, and one complete pin with all five fields filled.
Unhealthy
Boards named after internal product SKUs or brand taglines, with pins linking straight to the homepage.
What this means
Board names and descriptions are ranking signals, not labels. A board named the way customers search gets indexed for that search from day one.
So what do I do about it?
| Symptom | Action | Effort |
|---|---|---|
| Board is named after a brand campaign, not a search term | Rename it to a plain descriptive phrase a customer would type | 5 min |
| Pin links to the homepage instead of a specific page | Swap the destination URL to the exact product or blog page the pin illustrates | 5 min |
Final deliverable
A 5-board Pinterest architecture with descriptive, keyword-matching names and descriptions, plus one fully SEO-complete pin (title, description, alt text, destination URL) drafted for each board.

Success criteria
You're done when you can:
- All five board names are plain, descriptive, and match real search phrasing
- Every board has a written, keyword-carrying description
- Each pin fills all five keyword fields (title, description, alt text, board, destination)
- No pin links to the homepage
